References & Restrictions

Reference Requirements
1. Colours
I take colours directly from the image because I feel uncomfortable guessing at the colours you want me to use for your character.
For example, this is not acceptable: Heavy Shading
It is too heavily shaded and there is no clear base colour
This too, is not acceptable: Traditional
As traditional art, no matter how clear the camera, does not transfer over as a clear colour. It becomes very desatured and muted.
All reference images you provide me with must be flat coloured or cel shaded.
If you do not have one of those two types of images, you must provide me with a colour palette like so: Example
It doesn't need to be fancy, just to serve it's purpose.
Palettes are really simple to make, and take at most 5 minutes. You can do it in any digital program, MS paint would work. Plus, DeviantArt offers it's own as well. However, if you absolutely can not do it, or don't want to do it. I can make one for you cheaply for any future use if thats what you'd prefer.
Palette Commission
The only exception to the necessity of grabable colours is if you've ordered a non-coloured sketch or line art. Though, it's always preferable if your image comes in colour as that influences the colours of the lines/backing.If you have any further questions or concerns about colour palettes, just ask.

2. Fullbody
If you're thinking it now, "I ordered a bust/halfbody. Why do I need to give you a fullbody reference?", it's simple really. I like to visualize the full drawing, regardless of how much I'm actually drawing.
This one shouldn't need much more explanation beyond that. Even if it's only your character's head and shoulders showing, there's still the rest of the character, and I want to know your what your character looks like. Especially if they have a tail. A tail can be visible in a halfbody, and if long enough, even a bust. But to draw it properly, I need a full body reference for that.If you have any further questions or concerns about the fill of the reference, just ask.
Don't be afraid to give multiple references.
If you have a reference sheet, use it. Especially a static one. I care more about accuracy than seeing your newest drawing of your character.
Even if you commission that character from me a lot, that doesn't change the fact that it's a new image. I don't remember every detail about my own characters let alone yours. I always have a reference present of my own character when I draw them.

Stash References
If your reference is a stash file, you must edit it so it can be clicked.
If you just paste the thumbnail, I cannot access the full image and thus the reference is useless to me. To make a stash thumbnail clickable, you need to press the paperclip button on the thumbnail then insert the link to the stash post again, shown below.
If I cannot click your stash reference, then I will not accept your reference.
Of course, if you can avoid stash references, please avoid them! I much prefer to receive references in this order:
> Toyhouse pages/full galleries of references
> DeviantArt Posts
> Stash Posts
> Twitter/Discord/Tumblr/any off site website (ONLY if the website allows for non users to browse and view the images, I'm not making an account for your reference)

Commissions Expectations

> Payments must be made before I start your commission.
> For commissions more detailed than a sketch or coloured sketch, you will receive a WIP at the sketch level. This is the only chance you have to make major changes to the image, afterward it will only be small mistake fixes.
I will not continue work on the commission until I receive your written approval that it is what you want, so please reply upon receiving the WIP.
>Additional WIPs are available on request, however I will not make major changes and this service is solely if you want to be reassured I am working on it.
> When the commission is posted, you can request minor changes within 5 days after initial completion. After the 5 days, I will be deleting the file to save space on my devices and no further changes can be made.
> Refunds may be requested up until you are sent the WIP, after which it will be up to my discretion how much repayment you receive, if any, based on how far into the piece I got.
> I will post every commission I make. If you do not want it uploaded anywhere, there will be a confidentiality fee of double the price.
> You may not use my artwork for commercial or monetization purposes. They are for personal use only.

Art Trade Expectations

> My policy is "You offer, you finish first"
Meaning if you ask for a trade, either spontaneously or on a journal, I will not start your half until you finish. I have been scammed too many times, I do not make exceptions now.
> It will be a fair trade. Another reason I don't start until you finish is I return the effort what you give me.
Traditional for traditional, halfbody for halfbody, etc.
> Art you draw for me will be uploaded to Toyhouse. by asking, you are agreeing.
